I just saved $15.00 using the photoduplication service!

I just saved $15.00 using the photoduplication service for the image of the death certificate for Sarah Beatty Winning.

"Alabama, Deaths, 1908-1974," Sarah Beatty Winning, 03 May 1921

The missing image!

I could have ordered a ordered a certified death certificate through "The Alabama Center for Health Statistics" which began filing death certificates in 1908 for persons who died in Alabama.

The fee to search for a death certificate is $15.00, which includes one certified copy of the death certificate or a "Certificate of Failure to Find." Fees are not refundable. Additional fees are required for expedited service.

This is one I was surprised to see in my email. This I consider a SUCCESS.

"Alabama, Deaths, 1908-1974" - SUCCESS

I did re-submit a request for a Michigan Death certificate from the "Michigan, Death Certificates, 1921-1952" at the same time. No images received.

"Michigan, Death Certificates, 1921-1952" - FAILURE

In regards to the "Michigan, Death Certificates, 1921-1952", another blogger mentions the above. She indicated a success.

So what is up with this...
Will keep you posted.

Several others also blog about this topic, however seeing is believing, and I haven't seen a Michigan Death certicate in my email!

More can be read here:

Others were talking about this in 2012, and indicated the images would be online by the end of 2013, it is getting close to the being more like the end of 2014.

NOTE: "WE WILL LIMIT YOUR REQUEST TO FIVE (5) REQUESTS PER MONTH.  EACH REQUEST CAN CONTAIN ONLY ONE (1) IMAGE.  Requests are processed in the order they are received. Allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery. Please do not re-submit your request a second time if you do not hear from us immediately."

The photoduplication runs on a 30 day schedule, and does not automatically renew at the beginning of each month. If you make more than the 5 requests using the photoduplication from familysearch, you will get the following message:

"Thank you for your confidence in FamilySearch. As posted in FamilySearch/WIKI, there is a limit of five (5) requests per 30-day period. This request is in excess of that. Thank you, FamilySearch Support Photoduplication".

Please note, that the photoduplication runs on a 30 day period.

Photoduplication does not automatically renew at the beginning of each month!!!!

Make your requests wisely. Suggestion is to make your next request 30 days after submitting your 5th request. (5 images). One image per request. Not five requests for 25 images.

I had great success with the Michigan Death Certificates 1921-1952 via the Photoduplication Service. Four out of five of my requests were fulfilled within 4 days. I posted about my success on my blog www.michiganfamilytrails.com

I hope your request from Michigan is also fulfilled.

Best regards,
Diane

I do not know how you can hold those old record on your own. It will be one of the Alabana vital records which you just kept secure and help those people to collect the Sarah Beatty Winning death record.
